Akitio Boating Club and Manawatu Hunting & Fishing NZFish Akitio 2016 – $15,000 in prizes Bernie Walsh Aluminium and Glass – Top Boat. Prizes for largest: John Dory, Groper, Tuna, Kahawai, Gurnard, Trumpeter, Blue Cod, King Fish, Snapper and Tarakihi. Settlers' Cemetery Walk – You are invited to join the Friends of The Settler's Cemetery at 2pm on a conducted walk through the cemetery to hear stories of  settlers buried here. Stories this month include Frank Engelbretsen (12 yrs), Bertrum Omundsen (8 yrs), Albert Neilson (12 yrs) and John McPherson (10 yrs).
