Dannevirke Host Lions present a one off performance of Silent Movies at the Dannevirke Fountain Theatre, Ward Street at 4pm. A Buster Keaton double feature from 1924 – The Navigator – hilarity on board (and sometimes overboard) and Sherlock Jr. Both films are accompanied live at the piano by David Beattie, who has played for many silent films nationwide. His grandmother, Jane Beattie, played for silent films when they were new. Door sales - Adults $10, Children $5.

Tararua District Council CHARTER PARADE to bestow on 1st Battalion Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment at 12 noon. The Parade will start at The Hub carpark with the Battalion accompanied by the Dannevirke Pipe Band, marching from there to High Street. They will then advance up High Street to the intersection of Gordon Street, where they will be halted by a Senior Police Officer who will then challenge the Commanding Officer before allowing the Battalion to march on.
